Description

The North Carolina Rice Festival was founded in 2014 by W.C. Lanier, an independent festival owner and promoter who, by all accounts, was well respected in his field and described as an all-around great guy. Upon his passing in 2018, Mr. Lanier’s heirs sold the festival to the Leland Tourism Development Authority, who currently own the rights. With the change in ownership, the North Carolina Rice Festival will also transition from a fall to spring event, expand from one day to three, move to locations in Leland, NC and grow into an event that includes cultural heritage and local history along with great food, music, vendors, shows, celebrations, and more!
