Initiated by the department for events in Jerusalem City Hall, Shaon Horef festival is back on the streets for the seventh year in a row. This night festival attracts thousands of young people from all around Israel every year and welcomes you to enjoy hundreds of free performances, exhibits, and workshops that will take place throughout the city.
The festival will feature more than 80 events with the participation of hundreds of artists and musicians who will transform the city’s streets and venues into display spaces for art, music, and culinary. The festival aims to promote local businesses and to use the attraction as an engine for financial growth, while matching the festival program to its audience.
This year the festival will be held in the Old City of Jerusalem for the first time ever. For the second year in a row, the district of art schools in Talpiyot neighborhood will be also hosting the festival. As for the City Center, the festival will take place in two locations: the fashionable Shatz Betzalel pedestrian street, and the magical alleyways of Nachalat Shiv’a neighborhood.
Mayor Nir Barkat says “Shaon Horef festival returns for another year with hundreds of artists and musicians, proving every year that the connection between artists, craftsmen, merchants and business owners results in a live and kicking cultural product. Shaon Horef events continue to keep Jerusalem as the leader and the pioneer of Israel’s trendy cultural life, just like abroad.”
