The scale of Tokyo Game Show, or TGS as it’s commonly called, is simply enormous. The 2017 show welcomed more than 250,000 visitors. Its 300-plus exhibitors included the biggest names in video gaming, like Sony, Square Enix, and Capcom, as well as small start-ups and indie companies. All video game genres are represented, from complex RPGs to digital puzzles.

Tokyo Game Show is as much about shopping as it is about seeing and playing games. Most of the major game makers sell exclusive goods at their booths. These include toys, game accessories, clothes emblazoned with designs from popular games, foods, and other items only available at this year’s TGS.
