About Montreux Jazz
Founded in 1967 on the shores of Lake Geneva, the Montreux Jazz Festival long ago outgrew its name, hosting everyone from Miles Davis to Prince across two weeks each July in one of the most storied settings in music. The lakeside town is impossibly picturesque, the intimate venues legendary, and the recordings made here form one of the great archives of live performance. Free stages and lakeside bars mean you can soak up the atmosphere without a ticket. It is jazz in name, but genre-blind in spirit.
“Lakeside, legendary and genre-blind. One of the great settings in all of live music.”
