About Holi
Holi, the Hindu festival of colours, welcomes spring across India each March in an exuberant free-for-all of coloured powder, water and sweets, as people of every background chase and drench one another in a rare, joyful dissolving of social barriers. It marks the triumph of good over evil and the arrival of the new season, with bonfires the night before. The celebrations in the Braj region around Mathura and Vrindavan are the most famous and elaborate. Wear clothes you will happily never wear again, and protect your eyes and phone.
